Abu Dhabi: Unlimited Free Travel Within the Emirate
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, offers students an excellent opportunity to travel without overspending. Students can benefit from an annual public transport permit, issued by AD Mobility, the emirate’s official transport authority. This permit allows for unlimited free travel within Abu Dhabi, covering not just the city itself but also regions like Al Ain and Al Dhafra (note that intercity bus services are not included).
To acquire this valuable student permit, you’ll first need to obtain a Hafilat Personalised Card. This card is specifically designed for students, seniors, and individuals of determination. It is linked to the holder’s Emirates ID, providing access to subsidized transport rates and the ability to transfer balances if the card is lost or damaged. This ensures peace of mind as you navigate the city.
Public transport permits can be easily purchased from various locations. Sales and Recharge Machines (TVMs) are available at bus stations and shopping malls, while Customer Happiness Centres at bus stations also facilitate the acquisition process. Just pop in, and you’re on your way!
Cost: The student permit is available for Dh500 and is valid for one year.
