4 Caribbean Beach Destinations with the Most Sunshine in April

Share The Article

Whenever the urge for a Caribbean getaway strikes, one thing’s guaranteed: blazing sunshine, soft sand, and turquoise waters all year long.

Not to do our best Al Roker impression, but some destinations really are sunnier than others this time of year — and just a few extra degrees can make a big difference for your tan… or that crazy aunt who somehow sunburns no matter what.

The expert team at Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights) released an insightful report, perfect for those scoping out April vacation spots, whether you’re drawn to splendid paradise islands or the many hotspots lining the Mexican Caribbean shoreline.

At Travel Off Path, our goal is to take the guesswork out of planning and showcase the destinations that shine brightest — this time, quite literally.

Here are the Caribbean’s warmest and sunniest beach destinations for April, with temperatures starting in the 80s and soaring into the 90s:

1. Aruba (Average Temp: 88°F)

Aruba may have its own flag, but let’s be real — this Dutch Caribbean island nation lies safely outside the hurricane belt, making it an ideal spot for spring vacations.

April escapes the fray of rowdy spring break crowds, allowing you to bask in sunshine while enjoying breathtaking backdrops like Eagle Beach and Palm Beach.

Additionally, Aruba boasts a reputation as one of the safest vacation destinations in the Caribbean.

With sun-drenched beaches, it’s no wonder that Aruba is a favorite amongst sun-seekers!

2. Cancun (Average Temp 88°F) 🇲🇽

Take it from someone (me!) who just got back from Cancun: this is primetime to visit America’s favorite beach getaway!

The weather is simply perfect — warm enough for bathwater swims, minimal seaweed, endless pool lounging, and, of course, an abundance of margaritas at your all-inclusive of choice.

Although you will start to see a surge of every possible traveler from here on out, Cancun remains one of Mexico’s most dependable escapes for Vitamin D and hassle-free getaways. Like Aruba, it’s also recognized as one of the safest places in Mexico to visit.

Travelers can feel at ease strolling around the area, thanks to the noticeable police presence that ensures safety. Cancun holds an impressive score of 90/100 on our Traveler Safety Index, on par with Aruba.

Travel tip: Keep in mind, a recent report indicates Cancun may experience sargassum issues this spring.

3. Turks & Caicos (Average Temp: 91°F) 🇹🇨

If you’re dreaming of the Caribbean you’ve often seen on screensavers, look no further than Turks & Caicos. Known for its stunning powder-white beaches and turquoise waters, this destination often attracts wealthier travelers seeking both luxury and serenity.

Lush resorts here often come without throngs of tourists, making it an inviting option for an exclusive getaway. Just be aware that while you’ll enjoy opulence, prices can deter many travelers.

With an impressive safety score of 85 out of 100, Turks & Caicos is another one of the Caribbean’s safest paradises, recommended to those looking for relaxation without worry.

4. Barbados (Average Temp: 91°F) 🇧🇧

If you’re seeking an alternative to Jamaica while it recovers from recent hurricane damage, Barbados is the perfect mix of rich culture and stunning scenery.

Taking cues from famous Barbadian native Rihanna, you can lounge beachside under your own umbrella-ella-ella.

Rich in vibrant culture, whether on the Atlantic or Caribbean side, Barbados always showcases picturesque pink-sand shores and waving palm trees.

Although not as hyped as the other destinations, Barbados offers travelers the chance to escape from the crowded beaches of Punta Cana, while still being considered quite safe. However, it does rank slightly lower in safety compared to Aruba, Cancun, and Turks & Caicos.
